Buying a car remains a dream of every person’s life whether what one earns does not matter. It has its own benefits as well as some disadvantages, but it will be beneficial to talk about the advantages only. People from foreign countries are always in a wish to travel herein due to the traditional culture that she bears. A NRI who is coming for the very first time in India would like to have its full view and buying a car will fully resolve this purpose and become his or her first preference. However, his decision may prove wrong in case of having the car only for few months say two or three. In such cases, self-driven car rental seem to be the best substitute.
Based on my personal experiences, I want to explain all the comparisons that will prove that self- driven car rental is far better than purchasing a new car in turn. Suppose, a NRI who has come to India visits the market to buy a medium-ranged car say Maruti Suzuki Swift LDI that costs for Rs. 565000, which is its ex-show room price and additionally spends Rs.50000 for its insurance, road tax, number registration etc. It means that the car will have the gross price of Rs.615000 that is a quite huge amount to spend. Afterwards, when the buyer will go for the resale of the recently purchased car, it will be according to the depreciation charged on the ex show room price which literally means resale value will be equal to (565000- 30% of 565000 = Rs. 395500). The borrower will have to bear the loss of Rs. 170000. On the other hand, if the same person takes a self-driven car on rental basis for 2 months, it will cost him Rs. 2000 per day or say Rs.120000 in whole. It means one will save almost half of the expenditure if takes a self-driven rental car. Besides these benefits, self-driven cars also incur many more advantages in them that are mentioned as follows:
• Self-driven car occupies one less seat, which means you will get an extra seat for the family member.
• One can enjoy the driving experience from his own hands and feel the magic of owning a car.
• One can have privacy during the whole journey and enjoy with the family.
Therefore, on my personal experience, I would recommend self-driven car for the purposeful and recreational holidaying than buying a new car that can cost much to you.
