Let season start and everyone want to go there as our advise after first leh trip 2017. Srinagar route best for leh trip before amarnath ji yatra start and people hire car from agencies yellow or black they are not allowed this season too. White number you can drive  but with proper papers and documents.

If you are happy with hire local taxi or bike then use yellow number plate.
